Welcome to Westlake Youth Football!
Westlake Youth Football (WYF) has partnered with the Westlake Recreation Center to oversee ALL youth football activities in the city for ages 12 and under.

Previously, WYF had only offered tackle football for Grades 3-6.

WYF is working with other communities in the Little Southwest Conference (LSWC) to provide the following options:

• Grades K-2: FLAG FOOTBALL
• Grades 3-4: PADDED FLAG (7 on 7 Flag with full equipment)
• Grades 3-4: ROOKIE TACKLE (7 on 7 Tackle on a modified field)
• Grade 5: ROOKIE TACKLE (7 on 7 Tackle on a modified field)
• Grades 5-6: TACKLE (11 on 11 Traditional Tackle)

Practices will begin August 1st.

Games will begin in early September.

Hello Football Families,

Here is the WYF schedule for the week:

Monday:

5/6 Tackle and 3/4 Rookie Tackle practice at Westlake High School from 6-7:30pm. Wear all equipment, including cleats and mouthguards and bring water and tennis shoes.

Tuesday:

3/4 Padded Flag will practice at Westlake High School from 6-7:30pm. Wear all equipment, including cleats and mouthguards and bring water and tennis shoes.

Green, Silver and White Flag teams will practice at Clague Playhouse from 6-7:30pm. Please wear cleats and bring your mouthguard and water.

Wednesday:

5/6 Tackle and 3/4 Rookie Tackle practice at Westlake High School from 6-7:30pm. Wear all equipment, including cleats and mouthguards and bring water and tennis shoes.

Silver Flag practices at Clague Playhouse from 6-7:30pm. Please wear cleats and bring your mouthguard and water.

Thursday:

5/6 Tackle and 3/4 Rookie Tackle practice at Westlake High School from 6-7:30pm. Wear all equipment, including cleats and mouthguards and bring water and tennis shoes.

3/4 Padded Flag will practice at Westlake HIgh School from 6-7:30pm. Wear all equipment, including cleats and mouthguards and bring water and tennis shoes.

Green and White Flag teams will practice at Clague Playhouse from 6-7:30pm. Please wear cleats and bring your mouthguard and water.

Friday:

All players should wear your game jersey to school. There is a Westlake High School Varsity home game that begins at 7pm. Players should wear their game jersey for free entry.

Saturday:

GAME DAY!!
The schedule was e-mailed.
Please remember that if you cannot be at a game, you MUST let your coach know ASAP, please be considerate of your teammates and coaches.
Your coaches will let you/your players know at practice how early they need the kids to arrive at the field on game day.

Please note that 3/4 rookie tackle DOES practice tonight from 6-7:30.

Also, the flag games this Saturday are at Rocky River high school but not in the stadium. They will be held on the grassy area near the baseball field.

This Friday is Homecoming and all WYF players can walk in the parade together. Please have your child wear their game jersey.

Please drop off your child at Dover Intermediate School at 5pm. We will meet on the grass field in front. Please send a bag of candy for your child to throw. We will be walking to Westlake High School and you can meet your child at the tailgate location. Thank you
